Basement Design, Building permit
and Renovation

• Interior design to include Kitchenette, 3 pc Washroom, Living room and Bedroom in a 700 sq. ft basement space.
• As the space was tight to accommodate so much, we placed the kitchenette in the staircase landing hallway and added a bi-folding door spanning 15ft across the width of the bedroom instead of adding a solid stud wall.
• The bi-folding door is closed only when the bedroom requires privacy. Or else the open door makes the bedroom an extended part of the living room thereby doubling the size of the living room
• The accent wall running across the length of the living room was first taped to create the approved design pattern. It took 8 hours in all for taping it manually. It was later painted in dark gray. 
• To keep the angled lines theme uniform throughout, we also added slanted gray lines to the doors.
