Gulmohar
Restaurant
- An existing restaurant space was to be re-designed on the theme of an Indian Fort for the new restaurant Gulmohar
- The existing bar counter was retained and refurbished with new porcelain tiles
- Accommodate a dining capacity of 84 people
- Dining area- fixed seating around the walls and non-fixed seating in the remaining space to allow flexibility in the arrangement of the furniture.
- The walls created a visual connection to every user in that space so we emphasized the walls by adding a series of laser-cut Mdf decor windows.
- The window design was inspired by the fort windows of “Vishrambaug Wada”.
- The window design also inspired us to create their restaurant logo – An elephant inside the fort window.
- Why orangish red and yellow? – Gulmohar is a flower which is orangish red in colour. So we decided to go with a warm colour palette and a colour complementing orangish red, which was yellow
